Dedicated to Jeff Koons and his wife,
the kind Cicciolina
Project by Marioka Son of
the Rain
for the exhibition KINOVARI,
which is some kind of imitation.
Chisinau 2000
Part 1.
"But where's the baby?"
In the exhibition hall there is a bath tub with warm water and foam, and I, Mark Verlan,
am lying in that foam, sun glasses on, maybe even headphones and I am listening to music,
so I am lying there nicely reading a newspaper or a book.
Project goal: the artist's bathing in the exhibition hall as an attempt
to whip out brain depressions that accumulate as a result of the artist's activity in a
space equivalent to urban existence.
Part 2
"Not all days are a feast"
Food as a means to prolong life. Eating sandwiches in the company of peers and washing the
food down with good cognac.
A small table. A plate with food. Two or three chairs. Cognac. Glasses. Flowers. Quiet
music (organ, classical music, Mozart, Modigliani). We are sitting at the table, eating
quietly, cheering and discussing peacefully.
Project goal: to have a snack after Part 1.
Part 3
"Rest"
Couches. After we have eaten, we are going to bed; we lie down, cover ourselves with
blankets and fall asleep. End of story.
The goal of this project is to immortalize initiatives that don't
contradict the laws of gravitation.
Thank you for your attention
Sincerely yours, M.S.R.
